Public Domain VHS tape cover art: an appreciation

from the collection of Mike Matei
Silent Film Researcher Tom Stathes has just uploaded a great post putting the spotlight on PD tape collector Mike Matei’s amazing collection of VHS cartoon cover art (including that terrific Daffy Duck VHS above).
Inspired by the plethora of passionately crude and off-model cartoon artwork contained in Tom’s post, I thought I’d go ahead and share some of my own collection as well. Afterall, isn’t this what the internet was made for? Enjoy!

Well this one below isn’t technically a Public Domain tape, but the cover art seems to fit in with this topic all the same…

Do you have any good ones in your collection?

Hardy-har-har!!!
You, Tom and Mike are onto something, if only it could be used for the engooderment of mankind.
HERE are series of blog posts I’ve done about budget LPs from the sixties. Not cartoon-related, but every bit as schlocky!
Happy All Saints’ Day!
Hi Craig,
Yeah I had to assure Tom that these tapes were only $2 a piece! Haha that $12 price tage would be a bit too much.
Nice budget LP collection! I collected 45’s for a while, maybe I should devote some posts to those…
HAHAHA this is like a stroll through memory lane at Walgreens. Thanks a bunch, I can’t believe that someone get’s paid to do these covers! XD
Nice Site! Thanks!
